Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and if you’re like most people, you’re probably thinking, “I’ll just order some flowers the week (or the day) before and call it good.”
Flowers are wonderful, but the markup that happens on Valentine’s Day only proves that flowers—specifically roses—are the go-to gift of the day.
What if I told you that your boo would love something else just as much as—if not MORE than—a bouquet? After all, every other person in their office will probably have flowers delivered, so something unique might make them feel extra special.
Chocolate-Covered Strawberries
This idea isn’t far-off. Chocolate is another item that’s huge for the day of love. Having these beautiful chocolate-covered strawberries delivered to your boo’s office or home will have them feeling spoiled.
A Letter
Nothing will make your honey feel more loved than having a handwritten letter postmarked and delivered to them. This is something easy and thoughtful that they can keep close by and read whenever they want to feel closer to you and remember just how much you love them.
Potted Plants or Succulents
If your boo really loves plants, giving them something they can take care of and nurture for years to come is a wonderful thought. While cut bouquets from a florist are beautiful, they have a very short life span and a very high price tag.

Donuts > flowers…need I say more? These donut bouquets are available from dessertboxes.com.au, so if you don’t live in Australia, your best bet is to DIY them or contact your local donut shop and see if you can make a custom order!
Bacon
My personal opinion? Bacon smells better than roses. While bacon probably isn’t the best bet for a vegetarian, I can’t think of anyone else who would turn their nose to bacon rosettes. Give them a laugh (and a snack) with a bacon bouquet!
Don’t worry, flowers are still a valid option. If your boo really loves cut flowers, make it extra special by hand delivering them and taking them on a lunch date!
