A Smoothie Recipe to Make You Salute Your Shorts!

In the Deep Deuce district of OKC, Wheeze the Juice is slinging smoothies and juices like they’ve been doing it since the ‘90s. Their shop is bursting with memorabilia and tunes that will completely transport you back to your younger years. Luckily for those of us at Datebox, we don’t have to travel far to get our fix.

We wouldn’t want anyone to miss out on our drink of choice, the Camp Anawanna smoothie, so we tested out our own rendition, bringing the delicious drink to your kitchen counter.

Things you’ll need for 2 smoothies:

3-4 frozen sliced bananas
1.5 cups frozen whole pitted dates
1 cup peanut butter (creamy or crunchy works)
2 tablespoons cacao nibs
3-4 cups almond milk (we used unsweetened vanilla)
2 teaspoons honey
Pinch of salt

Throw it all in a blender and process until smooth. (Dates can be hard to blend, so don’t give up!)

Pro tip: Add protein powder or flax seed for a more filling smoothie.

I’ll tell ya, there is no real science here. We suggest freezing portions of sliced bananas and dates in freezer bags to make this smoothie on the go! Share your pics and thoughts on this delicious treat with #HoneyAndBoo.
